The University Heights Historical Society and the Friends of the UH Library have honored Buster with a coveted spot on their mural depicting famous figures who have contributed to the University Heights community. Buster can be seen along side such landmarks as the Piggly Wiggly, the original UH library, the State Normal School, and such luminaries as Ray Price, Sally Rand, and Ernestine Bonn.

Sadly, Buster passed away on Sept 19, 2006 at the age of 15. Buster had a great run. He was a wonderful little spirit who served tirelessly as our spokesdog for 10 years. As evidenced by his depiction on the community mural, Buster had become a neighborhood icon. Hopefully, the mural will last for many, many more years. Long after we’re gone and forgotten, Buster will still be remembered.

Buster, the original good boy. Rest in Peace.
